I LOVE MUSIC A LA CASCADA

December 1, 2008

I’m pretty sure Cascada is my favorite musician of all time. She makes my fist involuntarily pump and I LIKE it. This is her newest jam, “Faded.” It’s just plain good. I wish I could create music like this, but instead, this blog is my contribution to society. I apologize.

Just Dance!

Lady Gaga sings the truth. JUST DANCE. That is all.

On Thanksgiving, I Give Thanks For Stella

December 1, 2008

nov-30-4

Ummm technically, the post could end with this picture and caption alone, but I feel the desire to elaborate. So, grandma clearly used too much paprika this year for the turkey rub. It looked like she slayed that turkey with her bare hands in our kitchen. She proceeded to remove some paprika and the turkey was BOMB. I conducted an ongoing Stella photo shoot and the fruits on my labor are below. Also, check out the Thanksgiving spread and the Empire State building with Turkey Day colors (love it!).

Markets: My New Obsession

December 1, 2008
Public Hand Massage

Public Hand Massage

From now on, a new item on my list of interests is MARKETS. Farmer’s markets, holiday markets, flea markets. I love all markets and everything about them. What’s better then looking at a bunch of random crap and talking shit with crazy vendors for an afternoon? This is my ideal day.

My favorite market so far is the Union Square holiday market.  Jane, JARED (I LOVE YOU JARED, Jane thanks you for holding her soup), and I were lucky enough to encounter a woman giving free hand massages. Well, it was more like we convinced her to give us free hand massages. I feel like such a market  tease though b/c I’m so friendly with these vendors but i haven’t bought ANYTHING, and I’m pretty sure I never will.  Another great find in the market was a group of people giving free hugs. Don’t worry,  I got one.  Then asked the guy if he picked my pocket. He then told me to check my purse as a joke, and of course I did as soon as he looked away.

Anyway, check out Jane sniffing her hand. I caught her in mid-sniff.

EMERGENCY BEYONCE POST

November 17, 2008

Holy shiz, Beyonce knows what I like! And so does Jane. She just alerted me to the existence of this hot jam called “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”. I couldn’t let a moment pass before bringing this song to your attention. Beyonce sure knows how to shake her shit! The dance in her vid is totally the new Soulja Boy. Beyonce doesn’t do the Superman, but she does some other crazy shit with some hip swinging/knee knocking combos. God, I make this dance sound so appealing! I’ll stop doing it injustice and let you listen for yourselves!

PLEASE WELCOME THE SMOKING BABY

November 16, 2008

baby-front

Yes everyone. Finally. It’s the smoking baby. This is the same smoking baby that I’ve caught Jane shaking her head at in destain (it’s just not right for a baby to be smoking!) and, I’ve also come home to Jane and Barb conducting a smoking baby photo shoot. One of the pics from this shoot was taken on my mom’s camera phone, which she quickly set as her wallpaper. Please picture Barb busting out laughing every time she flips open her cell b/c there is a smoking baby starring her in the face. This is real people. I received an email last week informing me that Barb had accidentally left the smoking baby at home (aka her cell). Home alone with a pack of cigs! Shameful.

This baby is prominently placed on our kitchen table, among the salt and pepper shakers and sugar bowl. Fits right in (and can be observed in one of the pictures below). Also notice that the cigarette brand is “Magic Dragon”…what EXACTLY is this baby smoking? In the words of Roots, I love my life!

Farmer’s Market…It’s So Fall

November 16, 2008

A few weeks back, we hit up the Farmer’s Market in Union Square. It was a magical day of fall wonderfulness. We met a guy that’s been a “digger” for about 30 years aka he digs through landfills and finds old stuff that’s pretty cool but totally unnecessary, like old jars and broken glasses. I didn’t get a pic of the guy or his wares, but I did take lots of pics of FOOD etc. We got a bangin ass cookie the size of our face and bought Barb some jam. She liiiiked.

There was also an interesting strike going on in Union Square…let’s just say that it wasn’t very well executed (check out the striker’s vest). Spell check people!!!

Another gem delivered to my ears by z100

November 16, 2008

So this is turning into somewhat of a music blog I’d say! Can’t believe I haven’t posted in about a month. I’ll do my best to keep up with the times, since I now have so many AVID readers.

This song/video is called “Untouched” by The Veronicas. Whenever a great song incorporates string instruments, I think it brings the listening experience to the next level and melts my heart filled with mediocre taste in music. But you can’t blame me! “Bittersweet Symphony” is a total classic. And “Viva La Vida” (Coldplay) ain’t half bad either.

Guilty Pleasure

October 19, 2008

I like music that some might call crappy, and I can’t help it! This vid is by the Kali girls. See below for their Wikipedia entry. They’re already on their third name…and they are all BAD! However, I thoroughly enjoy this song. Thank you New York Sports Club exercise music tv station. Always a reliable source for quality music information.

Wikipedia–“Kali” (Kali girls) is an American Pop/R&B trio composed of teenage singers and dancers Brianna, Cristina and Jamie. The band was first known as Willow but was quickly changed to LAX, months later it was decided that the band would be named Kali Girls due to all of them being from California.

DOES THIS LOOK BIKEABLE TO YOU??

October 5, 2008

Adrienne thinks so!!

This is a poor messenger braving the streets of NYC on his bike. For those of you who aren’t familiar with messenger services, you are supposed to indicated when an item isn’t bikeable 9b/c of it’s excessive SIZE or weight). CLEARLY this item is pushing the bikeable limits. I wonder what the craziest object ever delivered on bike has been! Well, this big board thing clearly pushed the limits and, bike man, I salute you!
